Dagad Phool, also known as Kalpsi or Pathar Phool, is rare, dried lichen or fungus that is used as a spice in Indian cooking. It has a woodsy, musky, earthy smell and a dry, light, fluffy texture and it looks like dried mushrooms or dried flowers. Dahad phool is greenish in color with a yellowish white top and a black bottom and it gives many Indian spices their signature black in color.
